# Connecting Your Stripe Account
Learn how to securely connect your Stripe account to Faktevo.
## Security First
Faktevo uses OAuth 2.0 to connect to Stripe, the same secure authorization method used by major applications. We only request read access to your payment data - we cannot access your funds or make charges on your behalf.
## Connection Steps
1. Navigate to Settings > Stripe Integration
2. Click "Connect Stripe Account"
3. Sign in to your Stripe account
4. Review the requested permissions
5. Click "Connect" to authorize
## What Permissions We Request
- **Read access to charges** - To detect new payments
- **Read access to customers** - To get customer details for invoices
- **Read access to payment intents** - To ensure accurate invoice amounts
We do NOT request:
- Write access to anything
- Access to your balance or payouts
- Ability to create charges
## Testing the Connection
After connecting, click "Test Connection" to verify:
- API access is working
- Faktevo can read your payment data
- The integration is properly configured
## Troubleshooting
**Connection Failed**
- Ensure you're signing in to the correct Stripe account
- Check that your Stripe account has API access enabled
- Try disconnecting and reconnecting
**Can't See Recent Charges**
- Allow up to 5 minutes for initial sync
- Verify your Stripe account has recent transactions
- Check Settings > Stripe to see sync status
## Disconnecting
To disconnect Stripe:
1. Go to Settings > Stripe Integration
2. Click "Disconnect Account"
3. Confirm the action
Note: Disconnecting will stop all automatic invoice generation.
