# Creating Your First Automation
This guide will walk you through setting up Faktevo for the first time and creating your first automated invoice.
## Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure you have:
- An active Stripe account with API access
- An account on one of our supported platforms (Fakturownia, inFakt, iFirma, or wFirma)
- Your platform API credentials ready
## Step 1: Complete Registration
After creating your Faktevo account, you'll be guided through our onboarding wizard. This process takes about 5 minutes.
## Step 2: Connect Stripe
1. Click "Connect Stripe Account" in the onboarding wizard
2. You'll be redirected to Stripe's secure authorization page
3. Sign in to your Stripe account
4. Review the permissions Faktevo requests (read-only access to charges)
5. Click "Connect" to authorize
Faktevo only requests read access to your payment data. We never have access to your funds or ability to make charges.
## Step 3: Choose Your Platform
Select the invoicing platform you use:
- **Fakturownia** - Most popular choice
- **inFakt** - Great for freelancers
- **iFirma** - Comprehensive features
- **wFirma** - Coming soon!
## Step 4: Enter Platform Credentials
Depending on your chosen platform, you'll need to provide:
- API token or key
- Company ID (for some platforms)
- Account URL (for Fakturownia)
Don't worry - we provide detailed instructions for each platform, including where to find these credentials.
## Step 5: Configure Invoice Settings
Set your preferences:
- **Default VAT Rate** - Usually 23% in Poland
- **Auto-send Invoices** - Toggle on to automatically email invoices to customers
- **Invoice Prefix** - Optional custom prefix for invoice numbers
## Step 6: Test Your Setup
Before going live, we recommend sending a test invoice:
1. Complete the onboarding wizard
2. Click "Send Test Invoice" on the confirmation screen
3. A sample invoice will be created in your platform
4. Verify it looks correct
5. Delete the test invoice from your platform
## You're All Set!
Once your test invoice looks good, Faktevo will automatically start processing your Stripe payments. Each new payment will generate an invoice within minutes.
